HOME CINEMA

We are very proud of our expertise in home cinema, having been involved in home cinema design and installation since the earliest days.

With Bernard Dickinson’s extensive home cinema expertise, we can offer the right combination of high quality installation service values and all-important home cinema product knowledge, easing the path to a successful home cinema purchase.

We do not push any particular product or solution, but listen to your requirements and suggest the right solution to your budget, whatever it may be.

Effectively you “bake your own cake”, whereby you decide upon the features list.

With all our home cinema solutions you will benefit from an experience that really has to be seen and heard to be believed.

You really must visit one of our showrooms to see the range of home cinema solutions we have on offer.  We have absolutely no doubt that you will be very pleasantly surprised.

Imagine it’s Saturday night – you’ve got your favourite blockbuster and popcorn at the ready. But instead of slotting in the DVD and sitting down in front of the TV, at the touch of a button the lights dim and a slim line projector and screen silently descend from the ceiling.

If you think that sounds rather hi-tech and gadgety – a luxury only afforded by the privileged few - think again.

More and more households are installing the latest touch-of-a-button technology that allows them to have their very own home cinema.

You can have a full-scale screen room or a modest multi-tasking living area – either way it is a great addition to any home.

If you are lucky to have a small area of spare space, you can install a dedicated cinema that is instantly at the ready.

But, as is becoming increasingly popular, you can just as easily install a concealed projector and screen in the ceiling space of your usual TV room – it’s as simple as that!

Technical developments now allow domestic AV kit to be concealed and thanks to innovative design, speakers are now artistic focal points allowing your home cinema to function alongside your day to day living space.

And, according to the experts, now is the time to invest.

The Sunday Times recently reported that Home Cinemas are becoming increasingly popular and affordable, saying: “Home cinema systems aren’t just for the moguls any more.”

Home cinemas can cost from £5,000 or as much as £60,000 upwards – making it very much an affordable and practical addition to any household – as well as adding value to your property.

The latest kit is also loved by interior designers – the ‘invisible’ home cinema has become particularly popular in period houses where owners don’t want to compromise traditional features with visible technology.

Appealing to all generations on every level, a home cinema is a great way to get a pin-sharp view of a big occasion or monster movie. Pump up the volume with surround sound and you have a truly awesome experience.

We recently created a children’s cinema in a family home in the Ribble Valley – a completely black cube with 110-inch screen.

“It was incredible!” says Lee Ashcroft. “We are installing more and more bespoke home cinemas. It can certainly fall within a sensible price bracket if planned correctly”

“With a bit of ingenuity almost anything can be done. You decide on your budget and we can design a system package that will make you smile every time you use it; for many years to come.”

A space of just 3.5m x 5m means lofts; roof spaces and cellars can all make viable home cinemas.

Bernard Dickinson has a wide range of quality brands dedicated to home cinema technology.

AV processors from Sherbourn, AudioControl and  Lexicon , projectors by Epson, Runco and Sim2, screens by Stewart and Screen Research allow you to experience the magic of Hollywood in your own home and a vast range of speakers and other technology to configure your bespoke cinema.

And at the Bernard Dickinson’s lifestyle showroom in Fulwood, visitors can see all the technology in action – quite simply a concealed 82-inch tab tensioned screen rolls down from a small slot in the ceiling and the projector appears at the optimum distance for a perfect picture.

The latest technology is now taking the home cinema experience one step further with projectors which have 3D capability.
